Equine Veterinary Surgeon (m/f/d)

for a specialist equine veterinary clinic in Northern Germany (Schleswig-Holstein)

Your role:

  • You will be practising equine veterinary medicine and specialising in surgery, including colic surgery and might also perform minimally invasive surgery
  • Your day-to-day work will include driving and providing treatment including mares/gynaecology, dentistry and vaccinations
  • On your request, you may also take on the role of Managing Director
  • You will be closely collaborating with referring colleagues
  • You will be extending the clinic's vet client base for referrals for operations
  • You will be providing training to your veterinary colleagues on an ongoing basis
  • You will be leading a team of approx. 10 staff
  • Your supervisor will be the clinic's present managing director until the role's handover
  • Your place of work will be the clinic in Schleswig-Holstein and the surrounding region

Requirements:

  • You have a degree in veterinary medicine, specialising in equine medicine and have a passion for horses
  • You will already have several years experience working in different equine veterinary practices or clinics
  • You enjoy performing surgery, are a successful surgeon and interested in horses suffering from colic and their treatment
  • Your training and experience includes all of the classical areas of equine medicine
  • You are able to identify opportunities and have the skills and capacity needed for creative action
  • You enjoy interacting with others, have an easy manner and are easy to approach
  • You are able to and skilled at communicating in German
