As part of its plans to develop new European markets, our client is now looking for a veterinarian to join its team as soon as possible for a newly created role and act as its

International Technical Service Manager Poultry & Swine (m/f)

Your role:

  • In this role, you will be acting at the interface between science, veterinarian practice and the food industry and take on the role of poultry vaccine expert for Western Europe and parts of Asia
  • On occasion, you will also be required to support the Field Technical Service Team of ten regarding the use of swine vaccines in Denmark, Benelux, France, Spain and Poland
  • You will be responsible for initiating and managing all technical and specialised supporting measures for marketing and regarding the image of these vaccines
  • You will be responsible for optimising the food value chain in cooperation with poultry and production animal veterinary practices and their customers or partners. You will be responsible for establishing vaccination programmes and appropriate standards.
  • You will ensure regular knowledge exchanges and transfers within our client's team of veterinarians
  • You will also be responsible for inspecting livestock in special pharmacovigilance cases related to field trials
  • You will be an important representative of the company at international events and conferences
  • Your responsibilities will also include providing technical support to the product management and marketing division, which means that you will be actively contributing to the continued development of the company's key markets and the products' positioning
  • You will furthermore use your position for personal exchanges at eye level at universities and opinion-forming organisations within the industry
  • You will report directly to the Head of International Technical Service

Requirements:

  • Degree in veterinary medicine, ideally with an additional qualification as a specialist poultry / swine veterinarian or a diplomate of the European / American College
  • Ideally, several years professional experience as a practising veterinarian or industry veterinarian
  • Candidates who have worked in related industries, such as veterinary institutes or health service providers, will also be favourably considered
  • Identification with modern production animal keeping practices and knowledge of the interplay between agricultural organisations, political authorities, the food industry and specialist large animal practices
  • Willing to take on a active, trans-border role in this field
  • Persuasive, open-minded personality and professional manner towards colleagues, opinion makers and cooperation partners in Germany and abroad, modern agriculturists and practising veterinarians
  • Happy to regularly travel internationally, including for multiple days
  • Proficient in MS Office and good command of English. Knowledge of other languages considered an advantage
