Originally a family-owned business, our client became part of a holding company in 2015 and is being managed by several industry specialised directors. It has a committed workforce of 400 people and takes a progressive approach to piglet production. Many of the company's operating sites, in particular in Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, operate largely independently. The company's corporate culture is marked by flat hierarchies and local responsibility for animals and the environment.

Its primary objective is the ongoing improvement of its animal health across all company locations. In order to build up corresponding expertise at our plants, we are now looking for several

Veterinarians (m/f/d) specialising in swine

to fill a number of newly created positions.

Your role:

  • You will be working as part of a team of veterinarians
  • You will be in charge of all animal health matters
  • You will be responsible for consistently improving the health of all animals at your farm
  • You will be managing your pigs through personal observation and performance data analyses
  • You will be responsible for implementing medical and non-medical measures as well as vaccination programmes
  • You will document all measures with care and in line with legal requirements
  • You will be developing concepts for implementation across all company locations in collaboration with the production management and other company veterinarians
  • Regular best practice sharing will allow you to systematically optimise operations
  • You will be working in line with the company's objective of meaningfully optimising the use of medication and simultaneously improving the animals' welfare
  • You will be providing guidance on how to improve animal handling and processes to co-workers
  • You will be reporting directly to the management


  • Degree in veterinary medicine and some initial experience with modern swine farming
  • Specialist training as a pig veterinarian welcome, but not a requirement
  • You understand the significance of superordinate corporate objectives and are able to apply them within your sphere of responsibility
  • You are open to innovation or are an innovator yourself
  • Your colleagues are important partners to you
  • You will be working mainly on site at your plant and occasionally visit the company's headquarters or other locations
  • A good knowledge of German is required
